West Germany

West Germany was a nation, initially administered by the Allies opposing the Soviet Union and East Germany, created by the separation of Germany following the Second World War. During the Cold War, a barrier known as the Berlin Wall separated West Berlin from East Berlin and East Germany as a whole. West Germany's capital city was Bonn. (AUDIO: Protect and Survive)

In 1965, Group Captain Ian Gilmore, Professor Rachel Jensen and Sir Toby Kinsella visited both West Berlin and East Berlin to investigate reports of UFO sightings and smuggled footage of an alien making contact with Soviet agents. Both turned out to be incidents of Soviet misinformation. (AUDIO: Unto the Breach)

Kriegeskind Castle was located in West Germany and was converted into a UNIT base when the organisation was formed, serving as both a research centre and military outpost. It was destroyed following a paranormal outbreak in the 1970s. (AUDIO: Old Soldiers)
