Master Thief was the first of two special Big Finish Productions Short Trips in conjunction with the Time Lord Victorious series. It featured Roger Delgado's incarnation of the Master and was written by Sophie Iles.

Publisher's summary

The Master wants to plunder one of the most secure vaults in the universe, the Repository. He's got a plan, and a deadly new weapon to assist him. However, as the Master quickly discovers, getting in might be easy, but getting away with it might cost him everything.

References

  • Captain Roja mentions the Shadow Proclamation.
  • The vaults contain a Martian sword, but the Master doesn't recognise the dynasty or period.
  • The Master sees a whale shark in the ocean surrounding the Repository.

Notes

Textless cover
  • Captain Roja's name is a reference to Roger Delgado.
  • Georgina's name is a reference to the daughter of Katy Manning, who debuted as Jo Grant in TV: Terror of the Autons with Delgado's incarnation of the Master, and would appear in all his subsequent television appearances with him.
  • The vaults contain round canisters with faded writing, one of which is labelled "The Traitors" - an in-joke reference to the missing fourth episode of The Daleks' Master Plan.
  • This story was recorded on 11 May 2020 at LA Productions.
