Doctor Who Magazine's issues in 1990 spanned from issue 156 to issue 168 and were published by Marvel Comics UK.

John Freeman began as editor this year with Sheila Cranna becoming Group Editor of the Magazine.

Beginning with issue 164 the publishing schedule shifted from monthly to every fourth Thursday.

Throughout most of 1990 the cover price of the magazine remained steady at one pound 50 pence (£1.50) in the United Kingdom. In November with issue 167 the price rose to two pounds 25 pence (£2.25), likely because it included a free flexidisc. In December with issue 195 it dropped to one pound 95 pence (£1.95), the cover stating "More Pages, More Colour!".
