When he was trapped in the far future, near the end of the universe after the battle with the Sild and the destruction of the Consolidator when he tried to gather power for himself, the Master discovered an old Type 40 TARDIS. It was, in his words, "a little worn around the edges." It had one previous owner, according to the Master.
The chameleon circuit was damaged, but the Master managed to repair it. The Master used the TARDIS to return to 20th century Earth, but he was captured by UNIT when he tried to escape in it. (PROSE: Harvest of Time)
