Kingdom of Silver (audio story): Difference between revisions

Kingdom of Silver was the three-part story comprising part of the one hundred and twelfth release in Big Finish's monthly range. It was written by James Swallow and featured Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.

This is the only three part story produced by Big Finish to feature the Cybermen.

Kingdom of Silver (A Three-Part Story)

The Doctor arrives on Tasak in search of refreshment, armed with nothing more than a kettle. But this is a time of crisis for a civilisation about to enter an industrial age.

Mindful that a devastating war is only recently over, the wise and revered Magus Riga will do almost anything to save his people from the follies of the past. But the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And the planet Tasak is host to ancient powers buried deep and long forgotten. Can visitors from another world avert disaster or will their intervention drag this innocent world into the Orion War?

Notes

This audio drama was recorded on 8 and 9 May 2008 at the Moat Studios.
This story is set during the Orion War, meaning it's set sometime between 2495 and the early 26th century.
This story is set between Survival and the 1996 TV Movie.

Continuity

The Doctor once again mentions having met Leonardo da Vinci, as he said in TV: City of Death ^[+]Loading...["City of Death (TV story)"].
The Doctor refers to the TARDIS' "coral" desktop theme. He first saw it in his fifth incarnation in TV: Time Crash ^[+]Loading...["Time Crash (TV story)"].
The Doctor meets two Orion androids on a covert mission in the Orion War. The Orion War first featured in AUDIO: Sword of Orion ^[+]Loading...["Sword of Orion (audio story)"], which is in the Doctor's personal future at this point. The War was the central conflict of the Cyberman audio series.

Cyberman stories

For the purposes of this list, a "Cyberman story" is one in which one living, authentic Cyberman plays a part within the confines of the story, outside of flashbacks to previous stories and cliffhangers that lead into the following story. For this reason, stories such as Dalek are absent due to only featuring deceased Cybermen on display. Stories like Carnival of Monsters, A Good Man Goes to War and The Vanquishers are also not included due to the Cybermen's appearance being of little consequence to the plot of the story.
