The 261st issue of Doctor Who Magazine was released on 15 January 1998 and removed from British newsstands on 11 February 1998.

It is notable for being the second issue of the magazine to not have a non-gag comic story. It succeeded DWM 163 and would be followed by DWM 354 and DWM 553 through 555. Unlike its 2005 successor, however, this break in the comic strip was unplanned.
