Story notes
- This episode was incorrectly entitled Cyber War and Enemies of a Time Lord.
- In a released clip by the Doctor Who website Rory said that the Doctor said that "The Doctor said that the universe was huge and ridiculous and sometimes there were miracles" and added "I can deal with a miracle right now" to a seemingly dead Amy.
- Many old enemies have been confirmed to appear in the episode, whether there to play an enemy part is still to be confirmed. The list of enemies include the Daleks, the Cybus Cybermen, the Sontarans, the Judoon, the Slitheen, the Hoix, the Weevils, the Uvodni, the Sycorax, the Silurians, the Autons, the Roboform and the Blowfish. [8]
- Amy Pond's mother will appear, played by actress Karen Westwood[9]. Her Aunt Sharon will also appear, played by Susan Vidler.
- The title is most likely a reference to the TARDIS's explosion on 26/06/2010. (DW: Flesh and Stone)
- Both the date of the in-universe 'unidentified explosion' and the real-world date of broadcast is also 26/06/2010.

Rumours
- Some fans speculate that the unknown, sinister voice heard in the previous episode was, in fact, Omega. Some others have speculated that it's a greater plan by Rassilon, now regenerated after The End of Time to destroy the Universe and elevate the Time Lords beyond the physical laws of "Time, Cause and effect".
- Original Cybermen will return. They didn't appear in DW:The Pandorica Opens. However they were possibly mentioned by River among the enemies approaching the Doctor.
- The Slitheen will return. They didn't appear in the former episode, but were mentioned, they will might appear in the Big Bang.
- The Zygons will return. They didn't appear in the former episode, but were mentioned, they will might appear in the Big Bang.
- Many fans have speculated that during this episode, the Doctor will travel back along his own time stream to the events earlier in series 5.
- As most of the enemies listed and seen in The Pandorica Opens should have been defeated or should have not existed during 102 A.D (For example the Silurians, that should be under the earth), it is rumoured that something must have brought them all to the same time zone and place in order for all of them to join up together. The Daleks have already shown that they can use Time Corridors. They may have used this to help the Alliance to travel to this timezone.
