Chess Mistress Hex was the alias used by Ariadne Moore, a mysterious woman who was one of the many people befriended across the 10,000 Dawns by Graelyn Scythes to one degree or another. She was aloof and mysterious, but apparently "reaaly [did] care" about Graelyn, and accordingly answered Archimedes Von Ahnerabe's call to all her friends to send her video greetings on her birthday when she had to spend it in quarantine. In the video, she appeared sitting on a golden throne, wearing an "elegant black dress," and holding a mimosa in her hand, flanked by a man and woman in "stereotypical butler and maid outfits".
