Type 39 was a type of TARDIS used by the Time Lords. When Skagra's ship scanned the Doctor's TARDIS, she identified it as "a Gallifreyan time capsule, Type 39, possible Type 40." The latter was correct. The ship also noted both the Type 39 and the Type 40 were both obsolete and had both been decommissioned by the Time Lords. (TV: Shada, WC: Shada, PROSE: Shada)
