Egypt was a country in northeastern Africa.

History

Ancient Egyptian history was divided into the Old Kingdom and the Middle Kingdom. (PROSE: A History of Humankind)

BC

The First Doctor once theorised that Atlantean colonists may have settled in Egypt following the destruction of Atlantis. (PROSE: The Lost Ones)

A time rift existed in ancient Egypt, being one of several fractures created by Kadiatu Lethbridge-Stewart's time travelling. The Seventh Doctor explained that these fractures could not be mended, and that they damaged the space-time they passed through. (PROSE: Set Piece)

In 10,500 BC, the Osirans were responsible for the introduction of astrology on Earth, when the astral charts left within their pyramids were discovered by the Ancient Egyptians, inspiring them to study the night sky. (PROSE: Introduction and links)

Around 5000 BC, the Osirans visited Egypt during their battle with Sutekh and were worshipped as gods. (TV: Pyramids of Mars)

One Osiran, Thoueris, attempted to capitalise on this by demanding tributes from the natives, and feeding those who did not comply to crocodiles. She was later defeated and killed by crocodiles under the Eighth Doctor's control. (COMIC: The Power of Thoueris!)

In 30 BC, Egypt was conquered by Octavian for Rome, with Cleopatra dethroned and the Ptolemy Dynasty ended. Cleopatra's death took place in Alexandria. Subsequently, Egypt became a province of Rome. Weeks later, River Song arrived in the city of Alexandria. (PROSE: The Ruby's Curse)
