- The Doctor claims that the question of whether Susan was really his granddaughter has been one of the most puzzling discrepancies in the whole Who mythos.
- As Time Lords get younger with each regeneration, and Susan is a lot younger than the Doctor, that makes their relationship grandmother to grandson. Dr. Who reflects that this must mean his Susan is his great-grandmother.
- Susan uses a wheelchair.
