- The Doctor is trying to assemble an MFI bookcase with the sonic screwdriver. After it doesn't work properly, he embarrassingly asks for a Phillips screwdriver.

- Ironically, this story references the sonic screwdriver's ineffectiveness when used as a normal screwdriver but the device was used for this very purpose when it was first introduced in 1968's Fury from the Deep.
