Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

At night in Bugsbury, Tina Tyme observes that she and her brother Tim are not having much luck spotting any flying saucers. Tim agrees and begins to wonder if flying saucers exist at all when a saucer lands right in front of them. An alien exits and asks Tim and Tina for a flight path to Jupiter, explaining that he is a stranger around these parts. Managing to contain his bafflement, Tim tells the alien it is the first planet on the left past Mars, who happily thanks the siblings and continues on his way.

Tina notices something dropped from the alien's spacecraft as he took off and a closer examination reveals the items to be two pogo sticks. She thinks they should keep them safe in case for the "space creature" in case he returns but Tim suggests that they can't possibly be ordinary pogo sticks and takes note of an unfamiliar dial. Both twins enter in the same numbers and suddenly find themselves travelling through time, which Tina figures out when they pass someone who she identifies as "You-Know-Who", who accuses Tim and Tina of being roadhogs.

The twins emerge at the country house of King Alfred, where they find the sleeping King in front of a baking cake. Tim wakes Alfred to ask him where he and Tina arrived, who thanks the twins for saving him from burning his cake. Tim then asks for the time and Alfred replies it is 895. Tim and Tina hurriedly hop away upon hearing this, though Tina abates her brother's worries about their mum being mad by assuring him Alfred was telling them the year not the time of day.
