The Year Ahead? was the one-hundred-and-fifth instalment of Doctor Who?. It was printed in DWM 169 with a cover date of 23 January 1991.

- In January 1991, the second Ultimate Tour begins. The Sixth Doctor feels it will be a tough audience; it consists of Daleks, Cybermen, Ogrons, Zygons and Sontarans.
- In March 1991, a doctor tells a Davros of which there exists only his head that they will have to amputate.
- In May 1991, the Ultimate Tour continues with the Fourth Doctor after some cost-cutting. It is now a puppet show ran by the Smaller on the Inside Co. K9 is in attendance.
- In July 1991, tapes featuring scenes from Dr. Who that were not "alright on the night" are released. The First Doctor and his companions break through the back of the TARDIS while escaping some Daleks.
- In September 1991, Davros meets the brain of Morbius in a bar.
- In October 1991, the BBC bring back a revamped Dr. Who starring Bruce Forsyth as the Eighth Doctor after noting the popularity of both cop and quiz shows. He arrests an Ice Warrior but reminds him he has the chance to win big prizes in the second half of Regeneration Game.
- In December 1991, the Rani teams up with Rani Corbett for a Christmas TV special called The Two Ranis.
- A Dalek tells a Cyberman that their Emperor realised their irritability was due to late nights and an excess of sugar in their diets but by then they had already decimated the universe.
- The heads of the first six incarnations of the Doctor are mounted in the bar.

- The Year Ahead? marks the first story in Doctor Who? that was given an individual title as well as the first to span more than three panels with an entire page getting dedicated to it.
- This story marked the first appearance of the Eighth Doctor in the Doctor Who? series, albeit not the incarnation played by Paul McGann.
- This story also marked the second and final appearances of both the Ogrons and the Rani in the series.
- This story was originally printed in DWM 169, the first issue of Doctor Who Magazine with a cover date of 1991.
