Worldbuilding
- The Doctor calls TV Comic Land "more ghastly than Skaro, twice as horrendous as Vortis and ten times more terrible than E-Space".
- The Doctor calls John and Gillian his "so-called" grandchildren and dislikes when they call him "Doctor Who".
Notes
- The Doctor's dislike for TV Comic Land and the way that he is addressed whilst there is a reference to what the First Doctor was often called in early expanded media, especially in the pages of TV Comic. Additionally, it was Fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison who insisted the character be credited on-screen as "The Doctor" rather than "Doctor Who".
- With the appearances of Nyssa and John and Gillian, this marked the first story in the Doctor Who? series to feature any of the Doctor's companions. This was the latter's first appearances in any media since their departures as regular companions in Invasion of the Quarks in 1968.
- This was the tenth Doctor Who? strip drawn by Dicky Howett.
