The Enemy Within was a one-page parodical comic story in Tim Quinn and Dicky Howett's The Doctor Who Fun Book, which took the Doctor's TARDIS's wooden appearance more "seriously" than stories before it.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

When the Ship takes off leaving the floor of the TARDIS control room behind (and, with it, the Fifth Doctor and Peri), the Doctor is forced to face the fact that the Ship does, in fact, have dry rot.
