Outta Space was the last comic story in in Tim Quinn and Dicky Howett's The Doctor Who Fun Book. A metafictional epilogue to the book, it featured Howett and Quinn themselves as characters, after they had already been mentioned as such earlier on in Who Was 'Ere! [+]Loading...["Who Was 'Ere! (comic story)"].
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
Mr Howett and Mr Quinn have finished writing and illustrating every single page of The Doctor Who Fun Book and they must now reluctantly return to their usual job — working the huge bellows which produces the TARDIS's "Vworp! Vworp!" sound every time it dematerialises!
Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]
Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The bellows is emblazoned "BBC Sound Effects".
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The actual TV series would eventually give its own comedic answer to the origin of the TARDIS's iconic "wheezing, groaning sound" in The Time of Angels [+]Loading...["The Time of Angels (TV story)"], where it is claimed to be the result of the TARDIS brakes being left on.
