Second Doctor[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Second Doctor was given psychic paper while employed as an agent by the Time Lords' covert organisation, the Celestial Intervention Agency, which had developed the technology. He and the Time Lady Serena used it to attend the Duchess of Richmond's ball to keep an eye on the Duke of Wellington. (PROSE: World Game)

After being revived on Aldriss, the War Doctor used the psychic paper to convince Gallifreyan Captain Solex and Coordinator Jarad that he was visiting on official business from the High Council after being owed a favour by the War Ollistra. The Ninth Doctor used the psychic paper to display himself as a member of the War Office to British Army members in 1959, then to allow himself and Nova to enter the Sphere of Freedom's central arc as systems spot-checkers. While investigating the migration of the Serapheem in 2004 Dundee, the Doctor used the psychic paper to display himself as DS John Smith to DC Jana Lee who was searching for missing teenager Marnie McDonald in the same house. (AUDIO: Girl, Deconstructed)

Landing in Paris in December 1946 on the case of a sound creature, the Doctor entered the Hôtel Le Prestige and used the psychic paper to call himself a hotel inspector of the tourist board of the French Fourth Republic. (AUDIO: Fright Motif)

Just prior to Earth Death in the year 5,000,000,000, the Doctor used his psychic paper as a fake invitation to pass himself off as a guest, under the name "the Doctor", with Rose Tyler as his "plus one" to the steward of Platform One. (TV: The End of the World)

Aboard Satellite Five in the year 200,000, the Doctor used psychic paper to pass himself off as being from management to Suki Macrae Cantrell and Cathica Santini Khadeni. (TV: The Long Game)

In 5,000,000,023, the Tenth Doctor received a message on the psychic paper instructing him to come to Ward 26 of the New New York Hospital. As he discovered, the message was sent by the Face of Boe. (TV: New Earth)

In 1879, the Doctor used the psychic paper to identify himself to Queen Victoria as Doctor James McCrimmon from the township of Balamory, with a doctorate from the University of Edinburgh, trained by Doctor Joseph Bell. To his surprise, the Doctor found that the paper stated that he had been appointed by the Lord Provost as the Queen's Protector. (TV: Tooth and Claw)

In Pete's World in 2007, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass himself and Rose off as staff for Jackie Tyler's 40th birthday party. (TV: Rise of the Cybermen)

In 1953, the Doctor used the psychic paper to enter Eddie Connolly's household, claiming to represent "Queen and Country". Later, he used the paper to get past a security guard, finding that was identified as the King of Belgium. (TV: The Idiot's Lantern)

In 2012, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass himself and Rose off as police officers to Tom's dad. (TV: Fear Her)

Within Torchwood Tower, Rose Tyler took the Doctor's psychic paper from his coat pocket within the TARDIS. Though she successfully used the paper to bypass the door leading to the sphere chamber, she failed to pass it off as Torchwood Institute authorisation to Doctor Rajesh Singh, who saw the paper as blank due to his basic psychic training. In 1599, the Doctor attempted to use the psychic paper to pass himself and Martha Jones off as "Sir Doctor of TARDIS" and "Miss Martha Jones" to William Shakespeare, only for Shakespeare to see it as blank, proving his genius to the Doctor. (TV: The Shakespeare Code)

Having been given the psychic paper by the Doctor, Martha used it to pass herself Frank and Tallulah off as "two engineers and an architect" as they navigated through the Empire State Building. (TV: Evolution of the Daleks)

By handing the psychic paper to Constantine Ethelred Gurney, who saw it as blank, and promptly taking it back, the Doctor was able to tell that that Gurney was not the governor of prison planet Volag-Noc as he claimed but a released prisoner convicted of larceny, blackmail and fraud. Aboard the spaceship Titanic, the Doctor used the psychic paper to enter the Red 67 shore leave tour led by Mr Copper, with Astrid Peth as his "plus one". (TV: Voyage of the Damned)

Within Adipose Industries, the Doctor used his psychic paper to get past a guard, passing himself off as Health and Safety officer John Smith. (TV: Partners in Crime)

In Pompeii in 79 AD, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass himself off as an inspector for the Caecilius household. (TV: The Fires of Pompeii)

The Doctor used the psychic paper to pass himself off as an acquaintance to Lady Clemency Eddison, allowing him and Donna Noble to join her party. While investigating a murder at Eddison Manor, he used the paper to identify himself as "Chief Inspector Smith from Scotland Yard, accompanied by "Miss Noble". (TV: The Unicorn and the Wasp)

The Doctor was summoned to the Library in the 51st century through a message sent to the psychic paper by River Song, though he did not know her at this point. (TV: Silence in the Library)

In Venice in 1580, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass himself, Amy Pond and Rory Williams to an inspector as His Holiness, a Viscountess and her eunuch respectively. Later, Amy and Rory used psychic paper with references from His Majesty the King of Sweden to enter Rosanna Calvierri's school. Entering 79A Aickman Road as the lodger of Craig Owens, the Doctor used the psychic paper to show Craig what appeared to be his National Insurance number, NHS number as well as references, including one from the Archbishop of Canterbury. (TV: The Lodger)

Claiming to be babysitter to the young Kazran Sardick, the Doctor provided the psychic paper as proof that he was "universally recognised as a mature and responsible adult". However, Kazran saw the paper as "a lot of wavy lines", which the Doctor took as the paper shorting out as result of a "lie too big". (TV: A Christmas Carol)

At St John's Monastery in the 22nd century, the Doctor used psychic paper to identify himself to Miranda Cleaves as being sent from the Meteorological Department. (TV: The Rebel Flesh)

The Doctor was summoned to the home of George by a message to the psychic paper which read "please save me from the monsters". Ostensibly a human child, George was found by the Doctor to be a Tenza. (TV: Night Terrors)

Investigating a World Tree that had landed in Nora Wicker's garden, the Doctor used his psychic paper to pass himself off as an actual "assistant, associate, [or] junior doctor" from her surgery, with the paper displaying his entire medical degree. (AUDIO: The World Tree)

During the Year of the Slow Invasion, Kate Stewart of UNIT had the Doctor summoned to the Tower of London by sending a message to his psychic paper, a feat which impressed him. (TV: The Power of Three)

In 221 BC, the Doctor visited China to leave a message for River Song on a vase, using his psychic paper to convince ancient Chinese potters that it was a special commission from the emperor. The message was the expression, "Yowzah", written in period Chinese script. (TV: The Angels Take Manhattan)

When facing Captain Zhukov aboard the Russian submarine Firebird in 1983, the Doctor announced that he would "just this once" forgo the use of psychic paper and admitted that he and Clara Oswald were time travellers. (TV: Cold War)

As Clara revealed to the Doctor, Courtney Woods took his psychic paper and used it as fake ID to buy "White Lightning or alcopops". (TV: Kill the Moon)

Aboard the Orient Express spacecraft, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass himself off to Quell as a mystery shopper. (TV: Mummy on the Orient Express)

Trapped within the TARDIS as its exterior dimensions shrank, the Doctor handed Clara his psychic paper, which she took as an honour, asking if that "made [her] [the Doctor]", to which he insisted it did not. Clara used the psychic paper to pass herself off to PC Forrest as being from MI5. Later, she failed to convince Fenton that she was a Health and Safety inspector using the paper, which the Doctor attributed to Fenton's exceptional lack of imagination. (TV: Flatline)

At the Drum in 2119, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass himself off as a UNIT member to Richard Pritchard. (TV: Under the Lake)

In 1651, the Doctor used the psychic paper when he claimed to pikeman Lloyd Llewelyn that he was an undercover constable from Scotland Yard, decorated for valour in battle with the Dunbar victory medal. Llewelyn, however, was not influenced. (TV: The Woman Who Lived)

During the London frost fair of 1814, the Doctor used his psychic paper, which claimed that he worked "for the palace", to convince an overseer to allow him to inspect the dredgers. At Kerb!am, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass herself and Team TARDIS off to Judy Maddox as relatives of the First Lady. (TV: Kerblam!)

In Bilehurst Cragg in the 1600s, the Doctor used the psychic paper to identify herself as a Witchfinder General to Becka Savage. However, when she attempted to convince King James I the same, he read the paper as identifying Graham O'Brien as the Witchfinder General and the Doctor as the Witchfinder's Assistant as he ridiculed the notion that a woman could by the Witchfinder General. At Tranquility Spa, the Doctor used the psychic paper to pass herself off as a Pan-Galactic Standards and Practices Officer, Health and Safety, Security and Hygiene and Resort Inspector to Hyph3n. (TV: Orphan 55)

When seeking refuge from the rain in Villa Diodati, the Doctor attempted to use the psychic paper on Mary Shelley, Claire Clairmont, John Polidori and Lord Byron, but found that it showed them nothing due to it being soaking wet, prompting her to say it might need a blow dry. In 1967 Medderton and on the trail of a Weeping Angel, the Doctor used the psychic paper to display herself to Eustacius Jericho as being from the 'Institute of Psychic Investigation', which she remarked as being an "interesting" choice. (TV: Village of the Angels)

When transported to an alien landscape inspired by the Roman Empire, the Doctor used her psychic paper to get two Roman guards to open up about the whereabouts of Yaz by describing her as a market inspector and personal friend of Emperor Nero. (COMIC: Hydra's Gate)

Shortly after regenerating and landing at the 1966 World Cup Final, the Fourteenth Doctor used the psychic paper to convince a security guard to allow him into Wembley Stadium by claiming he was Nobby Stiles' cousin. It supposedly displayed a picture that proved how "anyone can see the resemblance". Attempting to head north from Camden Town to find the Meep's crashed ship, the Doctor attempted to convince Shaun Temple to take him in his taxi by pretending to be the Grand Master of the Knowledge.
