Welcome to the page of GUSTHEGREAT! I am an expert of classic Doctor Who, having watched all the exitsting episodes.
I am proud of the enormous number of character pages I have created. However, my real pride is the uncredited actor pages I have created. Some, like Pat Gorman and Terry Walsh (I didn't create their pages), have appeared in so many stories, they deserve to be recognized.
I have also created numerous pages for The Scales of Injustice. Additionally, I have contributed some pages to Evolution, The Romance of Crime, The English Way of Death and Dancing the Code.
I enjoy all the Hartnell, Trougton, Pertwee and Tom Baker episodes, but I dislike some of the Davison, Colin Baker and McCoy episodes. I think they are all good as the Doctor, but could have been better if they had had better writers. I have never seen the TV movie, so I don't know if McGann is good. I don't care for the new Doctor Who, but have watched some of the episodes. I don't mind Eccleston or Tennant, but I hate Smith and Capaldi's portrayal of the Doctor.
I watch other classic British shows like Colonel March of Scotland Yard, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Adventures of Sir Lancelot, HG Wells' Invisible Man, Ghost Squad, The Saint, Danger Man, Sherlock Holmes (with Douglas Wilmer and Peter Cushing), The Baron, The Prisoner, Man in a Suitcase, The Champions, The Persuaders!, UFO, Space: 1999, Are You Being Served?, Fawlty Towers, Survivors, Blakes 7, The Omega Factor, Tommy and Tuppence, Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and Robin of Sherwood. Of these, my favorites are The Saint, Danger Man, The Prisoner and Blakes 7. My favorite actors are Roger Moore, Patrick McGoohan, Paul Darrow, Douglas Wilmer, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Claude Rains, Boris Karloff and Errol Flynn. My favorite film is “The Adventures of Robin Hood” (1938).
I collect old Target novelizations and action figures. The first Target novel I read was Doctor Who - Death To the Daleks. My favorite non-Doctor Who writers are Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Georges Simenon, John Buchanan and Roland Dahl.

The Episodes, and why I like (or dislike) them
- “An Unearthly Child” - The first episode is excellent, but the final three are like a caveman soap opera.
- “The Daleks” - The first four episodes are excellent, but the final three have a typical Terry Nation B movie plot. It also wastes the acting talent of Alan Wheatley in the pitifully small role of Temmosus.
- “The Edge of Destruction” - An interesting story that examines the relationships between the four regulars. The regular cast are excellent.
- “Marco Polo” - The first “epic” “Doctor Who” story. It sounds impressive on audio, and the sets look superb in the photos. It would be better for fans in only one episode was recovered.
Favorite Writers (in no order)
- John Lucarotti
- Terry Nation (some of his stuff is good; he gets a plus since he also wrote for The Saint and The Persuaders!)
- David Whitaker (some of his stuff is good)
- Dennis Spooner
- Louis Marks
- Bill Srutton (I enjoy The Web Planet. It's a shame he didn't write more episodes. He also wrote one of my favorite Saint episodes, The Rough Diamonds)
- Brian Hayles (his Ice Warrior episodes are good)
- Ian Stuart Black (I think The War Machines could have been better, but enjoyed The Savages and The Macra Terror)
- Malcolm Hulke (the two he co-wrote are alright, but his Pertwee episodes are great. His sole Danger Man episode (Parallel Lines Sometimes Meet) is one of the best episodes of that series.)
- Mervyn Haisman & Henry Lincoln (I enjoyed listening The Abominable Snowmen)
- Victor Pemberton (I enjoyed Fury from the Deep, like Bill Strutton, it's a shame he didn't write some more episodes)
- Peter Ling (The Mind Robber is an enjoyable episode. I would have liked to have seen more of his work)
- Derrick Sherwin
- Robert Holmes (his early episodes, like The Space Pirates, are a little weak, but his later work in the Tom Baker era is exellent. By far the best Who writer.
- Terrance Dicks (Robot and Horror of Fang Rock are enjoyable episodes.)
- Don Houghton (it's a shame he didn't write any more episodes)
- Bob Baker and Dave Martin (most of their scripts are terrible, but The Mutants and The Hand of Fear are good. I actually enjoyed the solo Baker script, Nightmare of Eden.)
- Robert Sloman (I enjoy The Dæmons, The Green Death and Planet of the Spiders, but The Time Monster is a bit dull)
- Robert Banks Stewart (Terror of the Zygons and The Seeds of Doom are two of my favorite stories)
- Chris Boucher
- Douglas Adams (I am not a big fan of The Pirate Planet, but enjoy City of Death)
- David Fisher
- Steven Gallagher
- Johnny Byrne (I like Warriors of the Deep, but find The Keeper of Traken dull)
- Christopher Bailey
