Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

This page lists appearances of K9 Mark 2 in the order in which he experienced them. This timeline is based on observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events in each of these stories. From these observations we have attempted to build a concise timeline. It is assumed, much like their TV story counterparts, that each novel or audio series their published/numbered order is the order they occur in.

The layout of this timeline is based in part on the observations on Clive Banks Databank, though it should be used solely as a source or considered a "true" timeline for stories.

Timeline[[edit source]]

First adventures[[edit source]]

K9 Mark 2 is forged from the destruction of K9 Mark I, who had self-destructed to protect Starkey, Jorjie Turner and Professor Alistair Gryffen from Jixen warriors after he and they were brought to Gryffen Manor in 2050 London by Gryffen's Space-Time Manipulator, though one Jixen escapes after spraying Starkey with a hunting mucus. K9 quickly realises that his memory bank has been damaged to the point of amnesia. As K9 adjusts to his new surrounds, Starkey is arrested by CCPC working for the Department when Darius Pike reports him for trespassing in Gryffen Manor and he is sent to virtual reality detention facility, though he manages to escape when the Jixen hunts him down. Returning to Gryffen Manor, Gryffen hides Starkey and K9 from Department Inspector June Turner, and K9 gives Starkey a Dog whistle as a show of friendship.
Set shortly after Regeneration, with Starkey still hiding at Gryffen Manor. K9 investigates Jixen activity at Dauntless Prison, but is shot down by the Department's Head of Public Order, Inspector Drake, just as Starkey and Darius are arrested for trespassing by Governor Thorne and June, though Jorjie is able to liberate them and the aloen prisoners of Dauntless Prison. K9 recovers in time to save Starkey from the Jixen when it arrives to battle the Meron working undercover in the Department, but the Jixen is killed by the combine forces of June, Darius, Jorjie and Starkey. Darius and Starkey learn that June is Jorjie's mother, and Dauntless Prison is shut down when Gryffen leaks its illegal activities to the media. With the Jixen gone, Starkey elects to leave Gryffen Manor, with K9 joining him on the streets.
K9 and company have their first battle with a Korven when one emerges from the STM and kidnaps Gryffen, though he is swiftly rescued. In gratitude for saving him, Gryffen deletes Starkey's dissident file from the Department's computers so he no longer has to a be a fugitive, and, at Jorjie's suggestion, gives him a room in Gryffen Manor to stay in.
A bounty hunter named Ahab emerges from the STM looking for K9 to prevent him exposing him and the Jixen warriors murdering Zanthus Pia in the year 50000. With the Department taking an interest in K9, June deputises him and his friends as the K9 Unit to assist her in dealing with alien incursions.

Early adventures with the K9 Unit[[edit source]]

Darius tells Starkey, K9 and Jorjie about how Gryffen lost his wife and children when a thunder storm causes echoes of them to manifest from the STM.
Gryffen has realised Jorjie has a crush on Starkey.
More of K9's forgotten past is revealed when the Anubians attempt an invasion of Earth.
While the Oroborus tampers with time, Gryffen discovers that Starkey's blood has alien antibodies, leaving him to believe that Starkey is the son of missing alien immunologists Charles and Marie Sobol.
Darius tries to tell Jorjie about his crush on her, but is interrupted by her telling him of her feelings for Starkey.
Following his disastrous use of the Hunger, Drake is removed from duty as Head of Public Order and replaced by Thorne.

Bedeviled by Thorne[[edit source]]

An accident with the STM sends Jorjie to 1963, where she meets Darius and Thorne's ancestors, William Pike and Barker.
During an Open Day for the Department, Starkey gets trapped on the planet Urlic when Thorne tricks him into opening a Ukkan library card, though the K9 unit trick him into opening the card himself soon after. Starkey and Thorne as soon rescued by Ukkan librarian Yssaringintinka.
Set the day before Gryffen turns 38-years-old. Wanting to make amends for past regrets, Gryffen frees a Time Blank named Taphony from the Department, but she quickly turns hostile due to her naivety, and tries to drain Jorjie's life force to replace her. However, K9 convinces Taphony to enter the STM and find her own place, saving Jorjie and reverting time back to her initial escape, with only K9 being able to remember her.
When they go undercover to expose Freddie Maxwell's illegal Crashclub, the K9 unit learn that Thorne is aware of K9's regeneration unit and plotting to steal it.

Facing the Korven invasion[[edit source]]

Gryffen leaves the Manor for the first time in years when the Fallen Angel ship in Canada sends a signal to the STM, and he uses the Department resources to go investigate. K9 and Starkey follow him, and they learn that the parts salvaged from the Fallen Angel to build the STM are of Korven origin, as is K9's enhancement code.
The K9 unit have found Jixen DNA in the sewers. Before they can go and investigate, however, Gryffen Manor is besieged by the Last Precinct movement, lead by Darius' father, Sergeant Harry Pike, in his crusade to remove the CCPCs from duty and replaced by human police officers. However, his use of an alien virus on the CCPCs backfires on him, and the Last Precinct are arrested, though Darius and Harry reconnect on his way out.
Thorne uses Harry Pike's imprisonment as a bargaining chip to coheres Darius into convincing K9 to hand over his regeneration unit, but he betrays K9 by planting a bomb inside him and then sets him to hunt the surviving Jixen. June refuses to follow the Department's order to gas the sewers while Starkey is still inside, but he is saved by the Jixen, who reveals itself to to be an ally and is named Jixey by Starkey. K9 is able to overwrite the bomb and prevent himself exploding when he faces Jixey, who reveals that K9 Mark I worked for the Korven.
Set shortly after Hound of the Korven, with June having been demoted for disobeying orders and Thorne using the regeneration unit to activate an alien amalgamation called Trojan. Starkey and Jorjie almost kiss amid a Korven invasion that reveals that the Department was a front by the Korven to weaken the planet, and Gryffen is able to overcome his agoraphobia to reach the Millennium Dome and destroy the STM to destroy the Korven invasion force. Thorne is then crushed to death when K9 destroys Trojan, though at the cost of most his energies. While he apparently goes offline, his regeneration circuit re-materialises inside him and he recovers.
