Timeline[[edit source]]

Founding of the Coal Hill defenders[[edit source]]

Set during 12 and 14 October 2016. The Rhodian prince and his Quill servant have been hiding from the Shadow Kin at Coal Hill Academy for a month as student Charlie Smith and teacher Andrea Quill, respectively. However, the Shadow Kin start to emerge from the Coal Hill Space-Time Rift to find the Cabinet of Souls, with Quill tricking Kevin Williams into killing the vanguard with her displacement gun, though at the cost of his own life. More Shadow Kin begin to emerge, attacking Tanya Adeola while she tutors Ram Singh online and April MacLean while she prepares for the Autumn Prom. While Tanya fights them off herself, Quill comes to April's rescue, but Charlie interfering when she fires the displacement gun causes April's heart to be synch with that of Shadow King Corakinus, who retreats. Charlie and Quill then tell April about their true nature, including about the arn placed in Quill's head to keep her subservient to Charlie, and April tells Ram and Tanya when she figures out they saw the Shadow Kin too. At the prom, with Charlie bringing Matteusz Andrzejewski as his date, the Shadow Kin return, with Corakinus killing Ram's girlfriend, Rachel Chapman, as well as severing his leg, and destroying the displacement gun. However, the Twelfth Doctor arrives to drive the Shadow Kin off, though he is unable to fully close the Rift, and he leaves Charlie, April, Ram, Tanya and Matteusz to fight off further incursions from the Rift after he attaches a Lothan prosthetic leg to Ram, naming Quill as their protector to make amends for Kevin.
Set a week after For Tonight We Might Die, during 24 and 27 October 2016, though the Coal Hill defenders have not seen Ram since the prom, as he is still recovering from the loss of Rachel and his leg, while the other defenders are adjusting to the existence of the space-time rift. Headmaster Frank Armitage is among those killed by a Leaf Dragon being controlled by football coach Tom Dawson to secure the safety of its mate trapped in his skin, but Ram convinces the Dragon to just take Dawson to reunite with its mate. Despite initially being hesitant, Ram decides to officially join the Coal Hill defenders. Quill learns that the Governors are investigating her, and April's dad tries to call her.
(DIARY ENTRY)
Charlie informs Matteusz of the battle with the Leaf Dragon, and of Armitage's death. (AUDIO: Secret Diary of a Rhodian Prince)
Explicitly set during Halloween 2016.
A few weeks have passed since For Tonight We Might Die. Coal Hill Academy is currently in between head teachers, setting this between The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo and Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart. Matteusz does not yet live with Charlie, setting this before Nightvisiting as well.

Defending Coal Hill[[edit source]]

Set the night of 3 November 2016. Matteusz is kicked out by his parents for being gay, and he moves in with Charlie, with both declaring their love, just before an invasion by the Lankin. April opens up to Ram about surviving her father's suicide attempt, and the two share their first kiss. Ram alludes to the recent events of For Tonight We Might Die and The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo, and April is learning to play "Night Visiting" on her violin.
(DIARY EXTRACT)
Matteusz has moved in with Charlie and Quill, and Charlie writes in his diary about their declarations of love. (AUDIO: Secret Diary of a Rhodian Prince)
While Quill referring to the head teacher using male pronouns would set this before Armitage's death, Matteusz is currently living with Charlie, setting this after Nightvisiting, suggesting that Quill was talking about a temporary headmaster filling in prior to Ames' arrival in Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart.
It is implied the story starts on a Monday, and then goes on for several days, at least up to the next Sunday. A few weeks have passed since The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo, and Matteusz is living with Charlie and Quill, but Ram and April are not in a solid relationship, setting this between Nightvisiting and Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart. Ram's friend Neil is hospitalised with severe burns after a truthordare.com challenge goes wrong.
Set across five consecutive days from Monday to Friday. April and Ram have started dating after their kiss in Nightvisiting. Quill wonders if her students have been replaced again, setting this after Joyride. Charlie and Matteusz are comfortable being intimate via their mobile phones, setting this prior to events within What She Does Next Will Astound You. Quill mentions the Daleks, but she makes no indication that she has ever encountered one.
Set on a Friday afternoon. Charlie and Matteusz have recently admitted that they love each other, setting this shortly after Nightvisiting.
Implicitly set after The Stone House.
Set "a few months" after Charlie and Quill's arrival on Earth in September 2016, with Ram implying that only one month has passed since For Tonight We Might Die, which would set this around 12 November 2016. April is still learning "Night Visiting". Corakinus makes an attempt to separate his heart's connection to April using an anchor of a life blood, but only succeeds in making their connection stronger, just as April's father re-enters her life, making her more volatile and Ram growing closer to her as he comforts her, leading to them having sex for the first time. Dorothea Ames replaces Armitage as head of Coal Hill Academy, and approaches Quill about having her arn removed. April gains significant powers from her connection to Corakinus, even healing her mother's paralysis, but feels Corakinus preparing for another attack and opens a rift to the Underneath to confront him, with Ram following after her, leading directly into Brave-ish Heart.
As Coal Hill is swarmed by killer petals, Ames and Quill try to convince Charlie to use the Cabinet of Souls to destroy them, while Matteusz urges him not to. Meanwhile, April and Ram journey through the Underneath and begin a relationship on the way to battle Corakinus. With encouragement from her father, April becomes King of the Shadow Kin when she bests Corakinus in a duel, but opts to imprison instead of kill him. Matteusz quickly realises they can use the Shadow Kin to neutralise the petals, and April is able to destroy them before Corakinus destroys the anchor, stripping April of her new powers. Despite betraying her for her own interests, Ames agrees to arrange for the arn to be removed from Quill's head after school on the following Monday, but still makes her take Charlie to parents' evening as minor revenge.

After parents' evening[[edit source]]

(SEGMANT)
Sometime after Ames's deal with Quill about removing the Arn,[1] the Coal Hill defenders deal with truthordare.com. (PROSE: What She Does Next Will Astound You)

Freed from the arn[[edit source]]

Quill puts the Coal Hill defenders in detention in Class B3.
After leaving the Coal Hill defenders in detention, Quill travels with Ames and Ballon into a metaphysical engine in order to collect the items necessary for the removal of her Arn, which is successfully removed by Ballon, and he and Quill have sex together in celebration. However, Ames, after giving Quill a new displacement gun, forces them to fight to the death for their liberation, and Quill emerges the victor, and escapes the metaphysical engine through the Cabinet of Souls. As she returns to Class B3 to get revenge on Charlie, she collapses, as Charlie and Matteusz see that she is pregnant.
Set between The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did and The Lost, with Quill still in her hibernation, though she awakens after she faces her fever dreams made manifest by the remnant energies of the metaphysical engine, leading directly into The Lost.
"Six days" have passed since Detained, during which the defenders, apart from April and Charlie, have been avoiding each other while Quill hibernates due to her pregnancy. Having regained his title as Shadow King, Corakinus returns for revenge, killing Ram's father and Tanya's mother, just as Quill awakens from her hibernation. After they save her brothers from the Shadow Kin, Tanya has Quill teach her how to fight. Charlie uses the Cabinet of Souls to wipe out the Shadow Kin, killing April when Corakinus is slayed by a Rhodian soul, leaving Charlie as the new Shadow King, though he is spared the genocide. As he questions why he survived, April awakens in Corakinus' body.
