This page lists appearances of Madame Kovarian in the order in which she experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories. From these observations we have attempted to build a concise timeline. It is assumed that for each novel, comic, audio or television series, their published, broadcast or numbered order is the order they occur in.

- Unwillingly working for the Silence, at first, River refuses to shoot the Doctor, creating an alternate timeline in which Kovarian is killed. After learning that the Doctor, not known to the church, was inside a Teselecta, River goes through with the "kill" in 2011, resulting in the timeline being aborted.
- Kovarian refers to the events of A Good Man Goes to War and River's archaeological pursuit of the Doctor. The war against the Doctor is still going and he has yet to face the Question.
