This page lists the Doctor Who universe timeline of the Daleks as given by The Discontinuity Guide, which was republished on the Doctor Who website. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories.

Timeline[[edit source]]

First Timeline[[edit source]]

The Daleks are created by Davros, who is killed by his own creations.
A group of primitive Daleks reside on Skaro before being wiped out in battle with the Thals.
More advanced Daleks return to Skaro and make the planet their home.
The Daleks begin working on time travel technology with Theodore Maxtible. A Dalek Civil War breaks out, resulting in the Daleks leaving Skaro and the Thals in peace.
One of the space capsule which escaped the destruction on Skaro crashes on the planet Vulcan.
The Daleks are defeated in their "first major encounter" with humanity.
Following their defeat, the Daleks complete their time travel program. They go back and successfully invade Earth in the late 21st century, creating a new timeline which is ultimately prevented by the Third Doctor. These Daleks are only aware of the First and Second Doctors, and initially do not recognise the Third Doctor before they are destroyed.
The Daleks pursue the First Doctor through time in an attempt to neutralise his "future intervention".
The Daleks encounter the Third Doctor at some point between the 23rd and 25th centuries.
The Daleks develop a deadly space plague. They recognise the Third Doctor.

Second Timeline[[edit source]]

The Fourth Doctor's interference with the creation of the Daleks inadvertently results in Davros' survival, creating a new timeline. The aforementioned events unfold very differently if they occurred at all.
Many centuries after Genesis.
90 years after Destiny.
100 years after Resurrection.
Dating based on the Seventh Doctor's comments. Skaro is destroyed.
