This page lists appearances of Adam Mitchell in the order in which he experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories. From these observations we have attempted to build a concise timeline. It is assumed that for each novel, comic, audio or television series, their published, broadcast or numbered order is the order they occur in.
Fan sources like the Doctor Who Reference Guide should not be used solely as a source or considered a "true" timeline for stories.

Meeting the Doctor[[edit source]]
- As a young man, Adam meets the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler in 2012. After his workplace is shut down, he follows them into the Doctor's TARDIS, leading into The Other Side.
- The Doctor tries but fails to return Adam home. After helping to defeat the Bygone Horde, Adam is accepted as a companion by the Doctor, who intends to take him on a trip to his future, leading ito The Long Game.
- Following The Other Side, Adam visits the year 200,000, where he tries to exploit future technology. As punishment Adam is returned home by the Doctor.

- TV: The Day of the Doctor (image)
- Adam is taken to the Black Archive by UNIT to have his record as a companion of the Doctor taken. His memories of the visit are subsequently erased and he is sent on his way.
Revenge[[edit source]]
- COMIC: Mystery Date (flashback)
- Shortly after his return, Adam loses his mother to an illness and lives "a life not worth living". Now a much older man, Adam blames the Doctor for taking away the future technology that he believed could have saved her life. Returning to the Vault, Adam and uses alien technology to acquire a vortex manipulator, granting him the ability of time travel. Making an alliance with the Tremas Master, Adam learns of the Doctor's different incarnations and companions, proceeding to travel through time and abduct them to have revenge upon the Doctor.
- In addition to those acknowledged below, Adam was responsible for abducting Susan Foreman, Steven Taylor, Sara Kingdom, Ben Jackson & Polly Wright, Victoria Waterfield, Jo Grant, Harry Sullivan, Romana II, Vislor Turlough, Kamelion, Melanie Bush, Mickey Smith, Jack Harkness, Donna Noble, Jenny, Amy Pond & Rory Williams.
- Adam abducts Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Vicki Pallister while they are traveling with the First Doctor.
- Adam abducts Jamie McCrimmon and Zoe Heriot while they are traveling with the Second Doctor.
- Adam abducts Sarah Jane Smith, Liz Shaw and the Brigadier while they are with the Third Doctor.
- Adam abducts Leela and K9 Mark I while they are traveling with the Fourth Doctor.
- Adam abducts Adric, Nyssa and Tegan Jovanka while they are traveling with the Fifth Doctor.
- Adam abducts Peri Brown while she is traveling with the Sixth Doctor. Unbeknownst to him, however, "Peri" is actually Frobisher in disguise.
- Despite this deception, Adam is later shown to have abducted the real Peri as well.
- Adam abducts Ace while she is traveling with the Seventh Doctor.
- Adam abducts Grace Holloway while she is traveling with the Eighth Doctor.
- Adam confronts the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler, the latter of whom he abducts.
- Adam abducts Martha Jones while she is traveling with the Tenth Doctor.
- Adam abducts Clara Oswald while she is traveling with the Eleventh Doctor, who follows him to his fortress where he finds his collection of abducted companions, as well as learning that he is working with the Master.
- Summoning his previous incarnations, the Eleventh Doctor sets all his companions free. When the Master reveals his intention to destroy the universe, Adam gives his life to defeat him. This sacrifice is honoured by the Doctors and their companions with a memorial inscribed "Adam Mitchell - A companion True."
