Spoilers are strongly policed here.
If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

This page lists appearances of the Special Executive in the order in which the team experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories. From these observations we have attempted to build a concise timeline. It is assumed that for each novel, comic, audio or television series, their published, broadcast or numbered order is the order they occur in.

The layout of this timeline is in part based on the observations on Doctor Who - The Complete Adventures, as well as Lance Parkin's AHistory and other sources that allow us to make observations, such as Doctor Who Reviews, and Clive Banks databanks. None of these sources should be used solely as a source or considered a "true" timeline for stories.

Early incarnation of the team[[edit source]]

Captain Britain recalls his encounter with the Special Executive (which for them hasn't happened yet).
Captain Britain encounters Gatecrasher's Technet and, recognising Fascination and Thug, identifies them as the Special Executive. It is explained that Fascination is an earlier incarnation of the person he met and that Thug is the brother of Special Executive member Legion. Wardog wouldn't be whelped for another 100 years and Cobweb was elsewhere.
An early version of the Special Executive consisting of an unnamed Leader, Zeitgeist, Cobweb, Legion, Numbers and Havanner, learn of Technet's failures from their history books and travel back in time to recruit Paradok, Ferro, Thug, Ringtoss and Pandora. The Leader wishes to also recruit Fascination, despite knowing that she would not join the team for another three centuries when he would be long dead, and devises a plan to recruit her. The plan fails and Cobweb reminds the Leader that he cannot alter history.

Wardog's Special Executive[[edit source]]

This story takes place at least 100 years after 'Alarms and Excursions' as Wardog is the new leader.
Wardog is hired to escort Time Lady Rema-Du on her mission to retrieve Fenris from the Zone of No Return. The pair succeed in their mission and return Fenris to Gallifrey where another Special Executive member, the psychic Viridian the Brainfeeler, attempts to extract knowledge from him. However, the Order of the Black Sun members Llorex, Faru-Faro and Drin launch an attack from the future. Fenris and Viridian are killed, and Wardog loses an arm.
This story takes place ten years after 4-D War.
Special Executive members Wardog, Zeitgeist, Millenium and Cobweb escort Rema-Du to Desrault for trade negotiations involving the Order of the Black Sun and the Sontarans. Rema-Du believes that she can bring peace between Gallifrey and the Order to prevent the future war, and develops a relationship with Lord Adamath. Sontaran Ambassador Brilox becomes jealous and uses a psy-snare to control Millenium into killing the Black Sun Elder thus creating the conflict between Gallifrey and the Order. To avenge Millenium, who he was forced to kill, Wardog murders Brilox.
The Special Executive members Wardog, Zeitgeist, Cobweb, Havanna, Oxo, Lady Burning Fish, Chomps, Sextant and Picaroon negotiate with Numbers, who has since joined Technet, to recruit their members including Ringtoss and Thug (again), China Doll, Ferro², Waxworks, Bodybag, and Lockheed.
