Theory:Timeline - Earth Reptiles

This page lists appearances of the Earth Reptiles, known as the Silurians and Sea Devils, in the order in which they experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories.
Limiting factors
The era of the Earth Reptiles has never been consistently or clearly dated. This dating issue is addressed in The Monster Vault [+]Loading...["The Monster Vault (novel)","The Monster Vault"], which acknowledges reports of Silurians being active in multiple prehistoric time periods. It explains that numerous groups of Silurians had went into hibernation at different times to avoid various incoming disasters, including but not limited to the coming of the Moon. This is also used to explain the appearance of multiple Silurian subspecies, as the remaining groups of Silurians would continue to evolve over thousands of years whilst others went into hibernation.
Timeline
Reign on Earth
- On 28 January 425,000,000 BC, the Silurians and Sea Devils sign a peace deal. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)
- The Silurians take to shelter as a large planetoid approaches Earth.
Resurfacing
- Silurians, potentially time travellers, appear as part of the Pandorica Alliance.
- Early 17th century - COMIC: Devil of the Deep
- Vastra's first chronological appearance. See Theory:Timeline - Paternoster Gang
- Vastra encounters another Silurian, Kisimos, and has the Doctor return her to stasis.
- A Silurian, Vella, has awakened from her hibernation early.
- c. 1895 - AUDIO: Whatever Remains
- 1909 - COMIC: Clara Oswald and the School of Death (flashback)
- Subject to UNIT dating but roughly between c.1970 and c.1980
- Subject to UNIT dating but roughly between c.1972 and c.1982
- c. 201X - AUDIO: Call to Arms / Tidal Wave / Retrieval / United
- Silurian Hunters attempt to capture Dalek weapons bases but are wiped out by the New Dalek Paradigm.
- A group of Silurians, potentially time travellers, are part of the Eleventh Doctor's army in the Battle of Demons Run.
- c. 6th millennium - TV: The Time of the Doctor
- The Silurians participate in the Siege of Trenzalore.
