This page lists appearances of Vienna Salvatori in the order in which she experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories. From these observations we have attempted to build a concise timeline. It is assumed that for each novel, comic, audio or television series, their published, broadcast or numbered order is the order they occur in.

Limiting Factors[[edit source]]

Vienna Salvatori's timeline can be split into three parts:

  • Her meeting with the Seventh Doctor in The Shadow Heart [+]Loading...["The Shadow Heart (audio story)"] acts as a kind of pilot for the character and allows the audience to see who Vienna is.
  • Her main series shows her progression from merciless bounty hunter to "gaining a conscience".
  • Her meetings with the Bruce Master during the Master! series.

Timeline[[edit source]]

Bounty hunting[[edit source]]

During the Wrath War, Vienna is tasked with capturing the Seventh Doctor.
Vienna recalls the events of The Shadow Heart. There are also appearances by the Slithergee and Pakhars are mentioned. Vienna is sent to topple down Berkley Silver's evil empire.
Vienna is working alone as a bounty hunter, suggesting a setting before Tabula Rasa. After stopping Cage Zorn from helping the Gomagog on Mars, a wormhole opens above her and Bernice Summerfield falls out.
After researching the disappearance of a celebrity, Bernice Summerfield finds herself working with Vienna to return Kronos Vad's book to the Archive.

Hunting Crevo Finn[[edit source]]

Vienna infiltrates the Dyarid Primary Vanguard to take down Jamela K'lynn and the Chtzin warriors from filling the power vacuum left by the fall of the Wrath Empire. While exploring Salaron's mind, she finds a vision of Crevo Finn. This causes her to pause her other assignments and hunt down Finn.
Vienna attempts to topple the New and Old Churches of Wonderment and their faith stealing operations. After completing her mission, Persival Kendric states that he knows the whereabouts of Finn.
Vienna investigates Death Incorporated on Mercator and the truth behind Crevo Finn. She stores her memories of the location of her parents in her ship's datacore and proceeds to wipe it from her memory. A mysterious man secretly sets her ship on a course for Focal Magnus.

Working for Crime Corps[[edit source]]

(FLASHBACK)
Vienna returns to Earth and is recruited into the security organisation Crime Corps in a consulting capacity. She is implanted with a chip that gives Crime Corps control of her mind, and her memory is wiped. She is given her first assignment, to deal with a shapeshifting psychomorph, leading directly into Tabula Rasa. (AUDIO: The Vienna Experience [+]Loading...["The Vienna Experience (audio story)"])
Working for Crime Corps, Vienna visits a personality hotel to trap a shapeshifting psychomorph. She meets Lieutenant Jexie Reagan for the first time.
Vienna and Jexie solve the strange lynching of Drew Haulis in a restaurant, witnessed by his ex-wife Tina. Vienna loses an arm and replaces it with a cybernetic prosthetic. She decides to stick around at Crime Corps, enjoying the idea of having a partner in Jexie.
Vienna has had several missions with Crime Corps and is still adjusting to her new arm. However it is revealed that Vienna has been replaced by the psychomorph since Tabula Rasa and the real Vienna has been working behind the scenes to stop Crime Corps after discovering her chip. After taking down Crime Corps, Vienna leaves Earth with Jexie to resume her bounty hunting career.

Partnership with Jexie[[edit source]]

Jexie is still adjusting to her life as a freelance bounty hunter, setting this shortly after The Vienna Experience. Vienna be Jexie decide to take the good day formula to Jonah Hall on the planet Pecorah, leading directly into Big Society.
Vienna and Jexie arrive on Pecorah in search of Jonah Hall. The good day formula is stolen by Helping Hand, and Vienna tracks their headquarters to the colony world London, leading directly into Impossibly Glamorous.
Vienna and Jexie have been working undercover on London for the past few weeks following the events of Big Society. They force helping hand to distribute the good day formula freely, thus completing their assignment.
Vienna and Jexie have settled down on a planet and have been running their own detective agency for the last six months. Vienna has been working with Jexie for a long time by now.

Tracking the Master[[edit source]]

  • AUDIO: Prey [+]Loading...["Prey (audio story)"]
Vienna is planning to give up being a bounty hunter, but wants to take up one final bounty on the Master so that she and Jexie can retire comfortably. She pushes the Master into the path of an oncoming train, assuming him dead. Ending leads directly into Vengeance.
Vienna alludes to meeting the Doctor in The Shadow Heart. She and Lila throw the Master back into the Time Vortex with Vienna returning to her time zone.

The Time War[[edit source]]

During the Time War, Vienna runs a mercenary bar and has a shaved head and an eye patch. She meets both the War Doctor and the Fugitive Doctor. The War Doctor claims that the Time War has splintered her timeline and that versions of Vienna are still out there living her impossibly glamorous lifestyle.
