This page lists appearances of the War King in the order in which he experienced them. It relies on much speculation to fit semi-contradictory sources together, and should absolutely not be seen as representative of this wiki's general policy.

Timeline[[edit source]]

Outlaw[[edit source]]

A renegade member of the Great Houses leaves the Homeworld at an early age. He is an amoral outlaw and the most wanted criminal in the universe.
Using the alias "Yardley James", he meets seventeen year old Judy Collins on Earth and takes her on as his travelling companion.

Returning to the Homeworld[[edit source]]

Yardley discovers a terrible truth about the history of the universe, returns Judy to Earth, and returns home to warn his people.
80 years before the start of the War, the renegade invades the head of the Presidency's chambers to warn about an unthinkable War.
75 years before the start of the War, the renegade returns to Gallifrey and addresses a Closed Session of the ruling Houses, where he warns of a coming war. In return, he is pardoned, but leaves the planet again.

35 years before the start of the War, the renegade returns to the Homeworld to share his plans for new armament protocols, but he's taken into custody by the head of the Presidency. Following the Faraway Declaration, the renegade is freed and accepted into society to begin war preparations under President Umbaste.
Now known as the "Magistrate" he is a trusted member of the High Council. He opposes Omega, resulting in him being sent away somewhere else.
5 years before the War, Umbaste mysteriously dies and the War King becomes President and appoints himself War King.

The War in Heaven[[edit source]]

The War King brokers a deal with Compassion to develop the 103-form timeships.
Now serving as President of the High Council during the War in Heaven, he recalls a conversation he had during the events of The Infinity Doctors.
The War King is consumed by Lolita.
