If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.
This page lists appearances of Davros in the order in which he experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories.
Limiting factors[[edit source]]
What happened to Davros after TV: Revelation of the Daleks and before TV: Remembrance of the Daleks, as well as what happened after Remembrance of the Daleks is complicated but not impossible to reconcile. The conflicting accounts of Davros' ascension to Emperor of the Daleks and dismemberment in Emperor of the Daleks, the sequence of events depicted in The Juggernauts, The Davros Mission, and the framing narrative of I, Davros cannot be reconciled and will therefore be treated as three separate timelines resulting from the Time War.
Davros' personality is subdued by that of an Emperor Dalek in AUDIO: Terror Firma but must be reversed due to his intact personality, which he has at least by shortly before the Time War in PROSE: Father of the Daleks. The explanation for this is as yet unknown.
Timeline[[edit source]]
Early life[[edit source]]
- As a small child, Davros wonders onto a battlefield and is saved from Handmines by the Twelfth Doctor. (TV: The Magician's Apprentice, The Witch's Familiar)
- Davros is 13-years-old.
- Set two weeks after Innocence.
- Davros is 30-years-old.
- In an alternate timeline, the War Master ensures Davros dies before he is severely injured in Corruption.
- Davris is crippled in a Thal attack.
Creating the Daleks[[edit source]]
- Davros meets Nyder.
- According to this account, Davros creates his first Mark III Travel Machine before his accident. Davros and Nyder are colleagues by this point.
- Prior to Genesis of the Daleks, Davros creates his advanced life-support chair and unveils Dalek One.
- According to the Time Lords Dalek Combat Training Manual, Davros was 34-years-old during the Genesis Incident. Nyder has worked with Davros for "years". Davros is supposedly killed by a Dalek but actually enters suspended animation.
The Dalek-Movellan War[[edit source]]
- While in suspended animation, Davros feels a disturbance in the timeline shortly after the Thal-Dalek battle that the First Doctor was involded with, setting this concurrently with the events of The Daleks and roughly 500 years after the end of the Neutronic war.
- The Daleks return to Skaro and free Davros from suspended-animation, leading directly into Destiny of the Daleks.
- "Thousands of years" after the creation of the Daleks, Davros is awakened to assist in the Dalek-Movellan War. However, he is defeated again by the Fourth Doctor and put in suspended animation to await trial for the Daleks' crime.
- Davros is still in custody following the events of Destiny of the Daleks. He is removed from cryo-suspension by the Tenth Doctor.
- Set directly after The Dalek Defence. Davros is eventually returned to Earth custody and placed back into cryo-suspension.
- Ninety years after the events of Destiny of the Daleks, Davros is taken out of suspended animation to cure the Movellan virus, but is stopped by the Fifth Doctor.
Surviving in the universe[[edit source]]
- Takes place after the 38th century. Davros is apparently killed in a spaceship explosion, though the Sixth Doctor knows that he has survived.
- In the 82nd century, Davros leads the Dalek Empire, which is "demolished" during the Skeletoid invasion of Mutter's Spiral.
- Davros oversees the bombardment of the Earth colony of Phobos in the 23rd century. He has a "wizened hand", placing this before Revelation of the Daleks.
- The Sixth Doctor and Davros recall the events of Davros. Davros' hand is destroyed. He is captured and is taken back to Skaro for trial by the Daleks.
On trial[[edit source]]
- Takes place in the immediate aftermath of Revelation of the Daleks, with Davros having just left Necros. A faction of Daleks begin to think of Davros as the true emperor of the Daleks.
- Davros has been placed "on trial", with the Daleks trying to see what use he can be to them.
- The ship taking Davros to his trial crash lands on Lethe.
- AUDIO: The Trials of a Time Lord [+]Loading...["The Trials of a Time Lord (audio story)"]
- Davros is time scooped to the LudoSphere and forced to appear in their shows. Upon being rescued by the Sixth Doctor and Peri, and breaking free of the communications barrier, he brings his Necros Dalek army to cleanse the LudoSphere and attempt to convert trillions into Robomen, inadvertently starting a war with the CyberNeomorph prisoners. The Doctor defeats them all using the AI producer.
- (FLASHBACK)
- Following the events of Revelation of the Daleks, Davros has been put on trial by the Daleks on Skaro. His hand has been replaced by a metal claw prosthetic. The Sixth Doctor arrives and rescues him from the trial, leading directly into Up Above the Gods. (COMIC: Emperor of the Daleks!)
- The Sixth Doctor tries to convince Davros to turn his back on evil and turn the Daleks into a force for good. He offers to take Davros to a planet where an army of Daleks lies dormant waiting for him to take control, and Davros accepts.
- (REFERENCE)
- The Sixth Doctor takes Davros to Spiridon, where Davros activates an army of white-and-gold renegade Daleks. (COMIC: Emperor of the Daleks!)
Becoming the Emperor of the Daleks[[edit source]]
- A year has passed since the Sixth Doctor rescued Davros from his trial. In the meantime he has been plotting his revenge on the Daleks with his new army. The Dalek Civil War begins on Spiridon and Davros's chair is damaged by Abslom Daak. He becomes the new Dalek Emperor and after being fitted into a new chair, plans to go after the Hand of Omega, setting this shortly before Remembrance of the Daleks.
- Davros is Emperor of the Daleks and his skirt matches that of a Dalek.
- Invading Shoreditch with his Imperial Daleks, Davros encounters the Seventh Doctor for the first time. Davros escapes in a Dalek escape pod when the Doctor tricks him into destroying Skaro with the Hand of Omega.
After the Hand of Omega[[edit source]]
- Davros' escape capsule from Remembrance of the Daleks is recovered by the Quetzel, and his personality is intact. He is put on trial by the Dalek Prime and executed via matter disintegration. One of his supporters was however operating the machine used for execution so Davros could have survived. Davros learns that Skaro was not destroyed.
- Davros has been separated from his Daleks following the destruction of Skaro. He escapes in a Dalek time machine.
- According to PROSE: Head Games, the events of Dalek Attack are a simulation the Doctor created by fictional energies. Davros, operating alongside an Emperor Dalek, leads an invasion of Earth in the year 2254, which is thwarted by the Seventh Doctor and Ace, setting this after Remembrance of the Daleks, and Davros is left frozen in time and space by the Time Lords for stealing a Time Ring.
- Davros' is brought aboard a Nekkistani time ship after he found drifting in space. He is also far more insane than normal, most likely a consequence of the predicament he finds himself in at the end of Daleks Among Us. His personality subdued by that of a Dalek Emperor.
- Davros' Dalek Emperor persona is still dominant, now having no memory of his old life or of anyone named Davros ever existing.
Role in the Last Great Time War[[edit source]]
- Davros is recruited into the Time War by the Daleks.
- Davros is resurrected during the Time War by the Dalek Time Strategist by merging echoes of Davros from every universe with the body of a Davros from one universe to create the ultimate Davros.
- Davros returns to N-Space and attempts to take control of the Dalek Empire. When this fails he is taken prisoner by the Dalek Emperor. The behind the scenes imply that the events surrounding the Nightmare Child are in Davros' future, setting this before The Third Wise Man. (BFX: The Eighth Doctor: Time War: Volume Four)
- During the War Doctor's degeneration crisis, Davros finds himself incarcerated on Falkus, an artificial moon of Skaro. He offers his help to the Time Lords. Should they help him escape, he offers his aid in allowing The Hybrid prophecy to come to fruition.
- Davros is seemingly killed in the first year of the Last Great Time War, despite the War Doctor trying to save him.
After the Time War[[edit source]]
- Davros is retrieved by Dalek Caan, who breaks the time-lock at the cost of his sanity. Using his own DNA, Davros creates a New Dalek Empire led by a Supreme Dalek. (TV: The Stolen Earth)
- Residing aboard the Crucible, Davros confronts the Tenth Doctor. Ending leads directly into Journey's End.
- He is seemingly killed when the Crucible is destroyed along with the New Dalek Empire.
- Clips from episodes up to Journey's End are used to represent Davros's life.
- Davros is working with the Paradigm Daleks.
- Davros comments on the Twelfth Doctor being the "new face".
- Davros is living among the Daleks, led by a Supreme Dalek, on a reconstructed Skaro. Summoning the Twelfth Doctor, he recalls their confrontations up to The Stolen Earth. Ending leads into The Witch's Familiar.
- Davros learns that the Doctor saved Gallifrey and the Time Lords at the end of the Time War. He is last seen as the Daleks face a rebellion from their decaying numbers from the sewers.
- Both of Davros' eyes of working, implying a setting after The Witch's Familiar.
