No page and no list of characters appear from these on Tardis, and the Jack Harkness appearances page only verifies stories with blue links, unsurprisingly. Overture DOES exist on Tardis, but is effectively blank and likewise is not linked to on any character list of appearances. There are likely ommissions, but the original writer of this does not have access to any back issues of Torchwood The Official Magazine.-->

Captain Jack Harkness was briefly an original Doctor Who television companion of the Ninth Doctor, travelling with him through time and space. After being rendered immortal and trapped with a broken vortex manipulator in 1869, with few opportunities to time travel over the next century, he later joins Torchwood Three, though the majority of his stories told are set after Gwen Cooper's recruitment to Torchwood in 2007 in the premiere episode of Torchwood, with remaining stories or scenes set before then occurring in flashback.
