This page lists appearances of the Ice Warriors in the order in which they experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories.
Timeline[[edit source]]
Old empire[[edit source]]
- The Ice Warriors live a peaceful life, however the events leading to the evaporation of Mars' atmosphere occur.
- The Doctor visits an Ice Warrior prison in Antarctica before both being frozen for "a few million years" before being found and dethawed in 2012.
- The Ice Warriors go into hibernation as their atmosphere evaporates. Izdaal says he will face the red dawn "tomorrow."
- Izdaal faces the red dawn, and 12,000 years later, after entering suspended animation, Isskar locates the Doctor on Safeplace.
- Apart from Isskar, the rest of the Ice Warriors are apparently in suspended animation on Mars (TV: Empress of Mars), Deimos, the Asteroid belt (AUDIO: Deimos), Antarctica (AUDIO: Frozen Time), and probably more.
Resurrection[[edit source]]
- Circa 3000 BC, the Ice Warriors led by Ice Queen Iraxxa enter hibernation on Mars. Around the same time, Grand Marshal Skaldak ends up on Earth's North Pole as a result of Dalek temporal technology. (TV: Cold War, PROSE: The Jeopardy of Solar Proximity)
- 8XX - AUDIO: God of War
- Sskoll recognises Skaldak's name.
- Ambassador Ssarl attends the Armageddon Convention hosted by Irving Braxiatel on behalf of his species.
- Iraxxa and her Ice Warriors awake from hibernation. Offered assistance by Alpha Centauri, they prepare to leave their dead planet and join the universe.
- UNIT faces the Ice Warriors setting it in the late 20th Century
- Skaldak has been frozen in North Pole for 5000 years. He is picked up by a Martian spacecraft.
- 2012 - AUDIO: Frozen Time
- 201X - TV: Face the Raven
- Late 20XX - TV: The Seeds of Death
- Early 2300s - AUDIO: Ice Heist!
- Allerdyce Benexa says that Margaret "has now been dead for just over 300 years"
- Humans and Ice Warriors have had numerous wars. The Galactic Federation is in the Ice Warriors’ future.
The Galactic Federation[[edit source]]
- Mars is represented on The Galactic Federation by an Ice Warrior
- Years after The Curse of Peladon. The New Martian Republic is in a civil war.
- Decades after The Curse of Peladon. The Martians' recent turmoil is referenced.
- An Ice Warrior called Ssard becomes a companion of the Eighth Doctor.
- Ssard settles down in his own time period with new wife and fellow companion Stacy Townsend following months of adventures with the Doctor.
- 100 years after the Doctor's last visit to Peladon.
- Decades after The Death of Peladon which itself was decades after The Bride of Peladon.
After the Federation[[edit source]]
- c. 5000 - TV: The Ice Warriors
- c. 6th millennium - PROSE: Let it Snow
- The Ice Warriors participate in the Siege of Trenzalore.
Far future[[edit source]]
- Earth and Mars no longer exist.
Unplaced[[edit source]]
- PROSE: Transit
- PROSE: Happy Endings
- PROSE: The Final Sanction
- PROSE: Cold
- PROSE: Uranus
- PROSE: Sirgwain and the Green Knight
- PROSE: The Jeopardy of Solar Proximity
- The Ice Warriors are engaged in a galactic battle against the Daleks. Predominantly grey but led by a Gold Dalek, the Daleks use temporal technology, bronze command saucers and Councillor-class assault craft (Planet of the Daleks). Skaldak uses the Daleks' temporal technology to escape, ending up on Earth circa 3000 BC.
