This page lists appearances of the Ice Warriors in the order in which they experienced them. This timeline is based upon observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events that occur during each of these stories.

Timeline[[edit]]

Old empire[[edit]]

The first Ice Warriors are created on Mars by the Gandorans.
The Ice Warriors live a peaceful life, however the events leading to the evaporation of Mars' atmosphere occur.
The Doctor visits an Ice Warrior prison in Antarctica before both being frozen for "a few million years" before being found and dethawed in 2012.
The Ice Warriors go into hibernation as their atmosphere evaporates. Izdaal says he will face the red dawn "tomorrow."
Izdaal faces the red dawn, and 12,000 years later, after entering suspended animation, Isskar locates the Doctor on Safeplace.
Apart from Isskar, the rest of the Ice Warriors are apparently in suspended animation on Mars (TV: Empress of Mars), Deimos, the Asteroid belt (AUDIO: Deimos), Antarctica (AUDIO: Frozen Time), and probably more.

Resurrection[[edit]]

Circa 3000 BC, the Ice Warriors led by Ice Queen Iraxxa enter hibernation on Mars. Around the same time, Grand Marshal Skaldak ends up on Earth's North Pole as a result of Dalek temporal technology. (TV: Cold War, PROSE: The Jeopardy of Solar Proximity)

Set in 2109. A nest on Ice Warriors awaken on Mars twenty years after a war with humans.
The Ice Warriors were believed wiped out centuries ago, during the events of The Seeds of Death. Mars is terraformed to have the same atmosphere as Earth and Deimos burns up, becoming a new sun, allowing the human colonists to thrive on Mars.
Allerdyce Benexa says that Margaret "has now been dead for just over 300 years". Mars is being rebuilt and the wider universe is aware of the Ice Warriors' survival, setting this after The Resurrection of Mars.
Humans and Ice Warriors have had numerous wars. The Galactic Federation is in the Ice Warriors’ future.

Unplaced[[edit]]

The Ice Warriors are engaged in a galactic battle against the Daleks. Predominantly grey but led by a Gold Dalek, the Daleks use temporal technology, bronze command saucers and Councillor-class assault craft (Planet of the Daleks). Skaldak uses the Daleks' temporal technology to escape, ending up on Earth circa 3000 BC.
