Early Life[[edit source]]

Alistair is 7 years years old and James is still alive. They live with their mother Mary Lethbridge-Stewart in Bledoe. James is a member of the Bledoe Cadets, though Alistair is told he's too young to join.
Alistair is a 7-year-old child and has his 8th birthday. James dies.
Alistair's father is still at war, though he briefly returned for James' funeral. Alistair still lives with his mother at Redrose Cottage in Bledoe.
Alistair is a 15-year-old boy. Jemima Fleming shares a kiss with Alistair before she is taken away to apparently have a baby.
Following the pronouncement of Alistair's father as MIA at the end of World War II, his extended family visit Bledoe for the funeral. His grandfather recieves a note from his deceased son which reveals he knows Archibald is the biological father of Alistair Jr. It is not revealed whether he tells his grandson at this point.

The UNIT Years[[edit source]]

With his "new unit" newly-formed, the young Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart oversees their moving into new HQ.
The Brigadier's previous encounter with the Doctor was during the events of The Invasion.

Working with the Doctor and Liz Shaw[[edit source]]

The Doctor has regenerated from his previous incarnation. Upon recovering, he assists UNIT in combating the Nestene Consciousness's Auton invasion and is asked by Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart to become UNIT's scientific advisor with Dr. Liz Shaw, and he accepts in return for a car.
(FLASHBACK)
The Brigadier buys a car from a dealership as a "sweetener" for the Doctor, who has recently joined UNIT. She is taken back to UNIT HQ where she is unveiled to the Doctor. The Doctor names her Bessie and begins work on refurbishment. (AUDIO: Bessie Come Home)

Jo Grant joins UNIT as the Doctor's new assistant, just in time for UNIT's first open battle with the Master. The Doctor steals a dematerialisation circuit from the Master's TARDIS, stranding his new enemy on Earth with him.
Set in either 1970 (AUDIO: The Other Woman) or 1972 (AUDIO: The Sacrifice of Jo Grant).
Though the audio's blurb places it between The Dæmons and Day of the Daleks, Jo is still quite new to UNIT, and is unaware of the true nature of the TARDIS, setting this before The Claws of Axos.
The Master reclaims his dematerialisation circuit, and promptly leaves in his TARDIS.
The Master has a working TARDIS, setting this after The Mind of Evil.
The Doctor hasn't seen the Master since Deadly Reunion.

The Doctor is driving the "Whomobile", setting this after Invasion of the Dinosaurs. The Doctor and Sarah have been absent from UNIT long enough for it to have been infiltrated by the Remoraxians. Liz, Sarah Jane and the Brigadier are kidnapped Adam Mitchell, leading directly into Endgame.

Story concludes with the 1981 Brigadier visiting the bar at the Hotel de Rois, leading directly into The Revisionists.
The Brigadier visits Geneva to finalise the details of his retirement. He has left Colonel Cosworth to run UNIT in his absence.
On his last day at HQ, the Brigadier is briefly transported back in time to his first, meeting his younger self.
Shortly after retiring, and a week before taking on his new post as a maths teacher, Alistair takes a holiday in Yorkshire and helps put an end to a murder spree.

In 1977 and while working at Brendon school, the Brigadier comes into contact with his future self and loses his memories of the Doctor because of this.

According to one account, The Brigadier is still alive on 25 September 2050 at the age of one-hundred-and-twenty-one. He physically appears to be around 75 years old and returned to Earth from Avalon roughly twenty years after he left.

The First Doctor in collaboration with his other incarnations, visits the Brigadier in December 1995 and convinces him to get rid of his newly acquired boat, vaguely implying that something bad would happen if he kept it. In a timeline where Harry Sullivan turned into a werewolf and killed Sarah Jane Smith, the Doctor responded to The Brigadier's distress call in Scotland alone.
